I recently went to Niagara Falls, my 8-year-old brother and I were left alone while everyone else went somewhere because I didn't wanna wait in a line; we sat somewhere we could see the falls but not too close to it. While I was looking at the falls I asked him what he thought about the falls, I unfortunately had a guess about what his answer would be, but asked him anyways. He said what I thought he would, "boring". When he said this I was still looking at the, very beautiful, falls and I got a little annoyed. I told him, the world is beautiful, put down your devices, and enjoy the view. And that is what I want to talk about today. This world is full of beautiful things, from living creatures to scenery, some examples of those scenes are in the thumbnail of this writing, which as of now is on the homepage, or in the "15 years" tab, and while it's great to just google "beautiful scenery" going to watch the Niagara Falls in real life was definitely much better than a YouTube video, maybe just because my eyes are bad and screens are hard to see, lol. But no, we all know somewhere deep inside that the real thing is better than a picture. There's so many places you can go to see, it could even be the local park in your city, and even those little places can be extremely beautiful especially during the afternoon, when the sky isn't blue. You don't need to go to the Grand Canyon to see something beautiful, that applies to so many things in life. "I can't exercise unless I have a gym.", "I can't do x without y.". Stop making excuses! Shut up, get out of your own way, and go do it. You don't need as much as you think you do to do what you want to. Back to the point, this world is beautiful, not just the most popular attractions, go find your own beautiful place. Next, we gotta say it when we talk about the outdoors. Put your phone down. Before you get mad and click off, hear me, or read me out..? Can't use expressions correctly. Anyways, let me say I do not have anything against technology, it is important in today's society and world, it's a way of connecting with people, and as I've stated before (in Connections) we want human contact, and being able to have that human contact in the palm of our hands whenever we want it is truly amazing. And also I don't think children are becoming dumber or anything, actually I think the opposite, I think kids are getting more knowledge, and that's the problem, but that's another topic ;P. And while that's all good and peachy, we still as humans need to spend time alone, it is needed, helpful, and necessary to keep a stable level-headed mind, and keep your thoughts together and be able to let your mind go free for a little bit and think about you, instead of deleting your words 100 times because you don't know how to reply to that person you have a crush on, we both know it's true. So to get your thoughts together, to be better at replying and talking to people you do need to put your phone down, just for a lil-bit, take a few Instagram pictures and then put it away and just let your mind go. With those two things done, finding somewhere beautiful, and putting your phone down, the next thing to do is shut up, and enjoy the view. That's really all there is to it. Once you've done all of that, let your mind go, gather your thoughts, take a few nice deep breathes, and of course smile. Then you'll be very calm, you'll have a better understanding of any problems you have, and maybe even come up with a reply to that crush of yours. The world is full of beauty, take a second to appreciate it, your phone is only about 4.7 inches big, if you see something pretty, give it a glance, a smile, and go on with your day, no big deal just a simple thing. Even those small things can make such a big difference in your life; your habits are very important, like showering, and brushing everyday, simple but very necessary, but again that's another rabbit hole. So yeah make sure you keep those eyes peeled for some good scenery, and there's no harm in taking a nice picture right? "The world is beautiful, close your phone, shut your mouth, open your eyes, and enjoy the view"-Mashnoor Kabir. That is one of my favorite quotes, and I think it has a good message despite the word choice. So try it out, find somewhere you think is beautiful and has some good scenery, put your phone down for a few minutes, and enjoy the view. Life might be hard, but the world is still beautiful. Just a little look at something pretty in nature a day will keep you more calm, and more happy, and if you get so much good from something so small, why not do it? Well thanks for reading, hope you give this a try, and I'll see you next week. Original
