We have been given a timer from the moment we were born, this timer could be set for a long time or a short time we don’t know, nor will we learn. In the time that we live in the world has so many doors billions of amazing things we can do with this beautiful thing we call a life. Regrets that we should not have and lessons you learn from unexpected people.
There’s so many things you can do nowadays in this world it’s unbelievable and impossible to list them all. Some are crazy and spontaneous and others are very calm and creative there should never be a point in your life where you say “I have nothing that interests me.” If that’s the case go find something it could be as intricate as buying hundreds of tools or as simple as going to the store and picking up a deck of cards. I’ve had someone tell me that he didn’t find anything interesting anymore and I was younger at the time I didn’t know what to say to him he was a little older than me and I was speechless. But after rediscovering a deck of cards my head was opened to everything that the word offers like skating, biking, body building, parkour, cardistry, painting. The small things such as cardistry has so many new things it’s so new so many things can be discovered with pocket sized rectangles it’s amazing. And there’s so much more that you could do. Time doesn’t give a crap it’s going with or without you. Get on the train of time and do something on that train don’t just sit and go along because you’re still not going anywhere. Keep trying new things and when you find something amazing that you love practice it and remember that practice does not make perfect practice makes permanent. What do you wanna have in your mind and muscles permanently as someone who’s had to unlearn many things it’s not easy but if you love what you do enough you’ll put in that effort. And even after you find an amazing thing you love to do keep trying things and maybe you’ll find another one. And if you don’t Alexander Graham Bell said. “When one door closes another one opens but we often look so long and regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see which one has opened for us.” I say again time will go with or without you don’t spend your time looking at something gone remember it and keep going with the memory don’t just sit there and have the shackles of regret hold you back. Because what you lost isn’t going to come back if you are sad about it and time won’t come back either but time is still ticking. Go with something still going on not something that’s gone. Find the open door and keep trying things and happiness will overcome regret and sadness. You don’t get to decide when your timer expires and the longer you look at it the more fear that builds up unnecessarily. “What would you know, you’re just a fourteen year old child that thinks he knows about life.” You know ask anyone from my teachers to my parents I have always acknowledged my low age and deep thinking and I have never ever said to myself, “I know a lot about life” because I don’t. But I know the pain of time going on without you, looking at closed doors, trying and failing new things. Some children see more than you do but that’s the life that they have been given be grateful for what you have. I have done nothing over the past few summers of my life and it’s hitting me now I let the time slip between my fingers without caring as a happy child now growing up even three years sadness is showing in me and my heart because of that. I’ve lost things very important to me that I wasn’t prepared to lose and I did look back at it and think of different ways it could’ve gone and just kept saying “what if” when it didn’t do anything for me and I finally found that open door at one point. I’ve tried a lot of things from swimming, biking, certain sports, and calm things such as painting, but in the end what I found that interests me is a single deck of cards it helps me flex my creativity because creativity is a muscle, it helps me do something, it gives me more reason to keep up, it gives me something to do while I ride the train of time. It’s amazing what 52 to 56 pieces of paper can do. I’ve wrote this writing not knowing if anyone would read it and if you are thank you for reading and I hope this hit you in the heart not rolled off your back and if so thank you I hope I changed something in your head. In this time we spend so much looking at people do things on a screen that’s not real. We don’t see that we can do that in real life, you could make other people say “wow” in real life instead of on a screen saying it to yourself. I’ve lived fourteen small years in this world and hope to have more but for a little more than three years I’ve been watching this world and the people around me and what I saw opened my mind and heart. “This is wise, to be knowing to have something to say and help people with what you say wisdom doesn’t have an age wisdom is all in the words that come from the heart and the brain in harmony.” People say “what do you think?” and “what does your heart say?”. Why not just combine both of these “What does the pumping red thing in you and the pink blob in you say?”. Because remember compromise is something we should all know even those two key parts of a human should learn to do.
