Love Thy Neighbor

This might not be the most popular post, but it's something I've been thinking about, especially with the election that just passed. And I've heard this from Rhett from Good Mythical Morning on their podcast Ear Biscuits where Rhett talked about the somber topic of this country being split. Unfortunately, he's right, this country is split, it's separated into two pieces and regardless of logic, regardless of anything, if you identify differently than I do, you're wrong and I don't like you.

One example that Rhett offered for this was a tweet that read something along the lines, "My neighbor, a Trump Supporter, is locked outside of his house in the rain, should I help him?" And Rhett was appalled by this. "How is that even a question?" Rhett responded. I agree.

Not to be rude, but I'm going to be rude, you're a talking ape. You, reading this right now, are a talking ape. I, writing this right now am a talking ape. We're all simply sentient meat sacks living on this beautiful planet together. We're all the same, by what means can you judge someone? You're going to leave someone to suffer because they like someone you don't like? I'm not a moral person, however, when we think about that, by what means does that click with anyone?

With this post, I want to share the message, love thy neighbor. This isn't new, this is old and has been talked about and written about for thousands of years. It doesn't matter who cares about what, but you should care about your fellow human beings. We're no better than anyone, we're no worse than anyone, let's help each other. If you want to know why one should love thy neighbor, look into the people that are smarter than me that have said this for years before me. They will give you indisputable answers.

No matter what you believe in, no matter who or what you are, I love you, just the way you are. With that, I'm going to conclude this post, thank you for reading, I hope you can find it in yourself to sympathize with the people you disagree with.
