Lying

Most of us have probably lied at some point in our lives for, whatever the reason may be we've likely lied: to protect ourselves, to protect someone else, to gain an advantage over someone, because of ignorance, or maybe even to hurt someone else.

What I want to discuss today, is the person that I lie to more than anyone else, and I'm sure that many people can say the same, is myself. We lie to ourselves, why? Who knows, there's a bunch of reasons. I lie to myself when I want to stay in line with things I want, or lie to myself in order to get something done. I’ll promise myself a reward and never give it to myself (mean, right? Gotta put the carrot on the stick, sometimes).

I’m not gonna sit here and say that you shouldn’t do this as I said, it gets me to do things. And honestly, if your lie to yourself doesn’t hurt you or anyone else, go for it. You are the only person I think that you can lie to. Should you ever lie to anyone else for anything? Other than blatant sarcasm, no. I’ve seen people lie I haven’t seen a lie go well. It always finds a way to come back and bite you in the face, not the butt, the face, everyone will see that bite on you. Highly condemn lying to others, honesty is the best policy.

Moral of this story, however, is that if you’re gonna lie, lie to yourself. You can use it to help yourself and others more than harm anything. Go ahead and lie to yourself, you got it. Thanks for reading, I’m really liking writing these shorter-form posts, I’ll cya.
