Ralph Waldo Emerson was an essayist and a philosopher and is best known for his work Nature. Nature is an essay that details his views of nature: how nature is great for the soul and can only truly be viewed with the mind. All in all, it’s a essay from a hippy that talks about seemingly crazy things that most people will quite quickly brush away (I mean, what does it mean to “be a floating eyeball”?) I won’t be talking about nature in full detail today, because that’s for another day. No, today we’re talking about some things I found while staring at nature the constant movement of the universe, the passing and catharsis of everything, and trees without leaves. (Yes, this will also be a hippy essay).
Recently, I’ve been going outside more, and for a shut-in that plays video games for more than four hours every day, that’s quite a feat. When I go outside, I usually go out to a field, a clear field, surrounded by trees, with a small creek splitting it in the middle. I go out there and just sit down and observe nature. I literally watch grass grow. Whilst doing this,I’ve found that everything is in constant motion. The grass and the tree branches are always swaying, the water is always flowing, and the clouds are always moving. Realizing this, I reflected on how even the atoms in the solid bench are also in motion, vibrating. Then zooming out into the universe, the moon, the earth, the sun, the galaxy. Everything is constantly in motion. This is also found by the universal law of vibration that says that everything is always moving.
During one of the first days of me going out into nature, it was raining, quite hard. I took an umbrella and watched as the rain fell upon the trees. I learned that the energy from rain is extremely serene, likely the reason it’s attributed to pensiveness, because it takes calm to another level. Next to that, rain cleans things, it nourishes things, it resets things. Rain also causes catharsis. It allows the cleansing of your mind. If you go out in rain, and just let yourself be, you’ll feel much… “cleaner” is the best word I can think of… once you leave. So enjoy the rain, let it be, and observe it. In the end, you’ll feel nourished, clean, and clear.
The last thing I’ll speak about relates to nature but deserves its own post later, so I’ll keep this short. When you look at trees, you notice that the trees that grow the highest often have fewer leaves. I think this represents something, that higher growth will come from less burden, less attachment, and less holding you down. So be a tree—be a tree without leaves.
I didn’t think this post would be as short as it ended up being, however, it is. I hope that it was insightful. Overall, this post is about the calmness of nature and how everything will continue. No matter what’s going on in your life, no matter what or how you feel, remember it will continue to move and that life will continue to go on. If you feel positive, then keep it that way. if you feel negative, be patient—everything will continue moving, and it will pass, just as the clouds do. Continue on your path, know your purpose and your goals, and the universe will give you what you deserve. Thanks for reading and have an amazing week.
I’ll see you the next. Peace.
