Abstract is defined in the dictionary as something you think of or see, but isn't physically real. So what? Why does this matter and why is the title of a writing to help you in life called abstract? Well we aren't gonna talk about paintings if that's what you wanted. But what I do wanna talk about is something that isn't physically real, but everyone thinks it. Their Perception of things. So what is perspective and how does it affect people, what you can do to see their perspective, and the ol' don't judge a book by it's cover.

When you look at a picture that people call "abstract", which is usually a bunch of random shapes, what do you see? Usually you will see something different from the person next to you, and nothings wrong with that. But how does this translate to life? Well you see that's it, how you see things, that's what perspective is, someone's outlook on something. It's what makes people act how they act, say what they say, and be the way they are. You might think something is completely useless and someone else might think it's the most useful thing ever. These thoughts come from past experiences, like how you were raised. heights may not scare you, you know you won't fall, then someone else could be completely terrified, maybe they fell when they were little and got hurt. People get judged for this and people don't get where they're coming from. But is it that easy to see what someone else is seeing? If you said "no", then yes you are right it's not easy, but like many other things in life, possible.

As the old saying goes, "put yourself in my shoes", this is basically saying, if you were where I am you'd get why I'm doing whatever. But as I said it's not to easy to put yourself in someone's shoes, so how do you achieve it? You have to learn a few things and get some concepts in your head. The easiest one is to get, you are not that person you have your own opinions, but they are not the only opinions. Just tell yourself that not everyone thinks like you, simple. The harder one is this, you are not always right. With a human's pride this is really hard for many people to put through their heads, you can say it as much as you want, but until you can honestly think to yourself and say "I could be wrong", you have achieved this. You need to know this because you can't see someone else's outlook if you hold on to yours. Which brings me to the third concept, forget everything you thought, and forget everything you think you know. You need to do this again, because when you look through someone else's eyes you can't use your own. Now once you have done this, because you're a sick human being, the next step is to go into their life, take everything you know about that person and only that person put that in your head, and look at it from their angle. I'm gonna use an argument as an example. Look from their side, what you said to them, how you said it, and if you were them how would you interpret it. Again forget about why you did it, just think about how they interpret it. When you do that, you will know exactly what to say to fix the issue, or realize how to handle it in some way. Because you don't know if the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence if you never look.

We've all heard at one point in our life, "don't judge a book by it's cover.", right? It means don't think about what someone's like just because of their looks. This will usually go with race, family economics, and how someone dresses. Now remember there's the chance you don't like one part of the book, yet you love the other part, so don't judge anything until you've seen the whole story. This philosophy is really one you should follow, because it's usually not their fault for how the cover looks, how the outside looks. Now the chapters aren't all them either, they are influenced by many things we fail to see. There's a lot you don't know about the person you're talking too, never think you know everything about anyone, because once you think that, and those people turn on you, it will hurt bad. As I said, one part of the book may be good, but another might be bad. And the book will not be finished until that person dies, so don't stop reading. Reading is how you learn, don't stop doing it.

I love abstract art, it's really beautiful. It's even the background of this website! And littered over the whole thing, just gotta look for it. Because I love seeing how someone else feels about something, while it took a long time to master going into people's brains, I'm happy I did it. It helped a lot of arguments and situations get solved quickly. Hopefully you learned what perspective is, how you can shift your perspective, and why you don't judge a book by it's cover. Before I go I would like to say I made an instagram account for this website and just a bunch of great quotes check it out @tci27 on instagram! Original
